Jan 5th-12th

This Past Sunday…

As we end one year and begin another, we’re focusing on the unchanging foundation of God’s Word. In our new sermon series, Word-Shaped People, we’ll explore how Scripture transforms our lives and equips us for God’s mission. Join us as we reflect on the past and step into the future rooted in the gospel and the power of God’s Word.

Application Questions:

  1. Am I engaging with God’s Word as living and active? Do I trust it to shape my life and accomplish God’s purposes?

  2. Am I allowing Scripture to expose my heart? How have I responded to its piercing truth, revealing sin and calling me to repentance?

  3. Do I trust God’s Word to reveal and guide me? In what ways have I resisted its authority to align my life with His will?

  4. How does the Word made flesh transform my life?

Starting on Jan 19th we will embark on a new sermon series through the book of Romans.

The Gospel: Right With God. (Romans 1-4)

This month we will begin our journey through Paul’s letter to the Romans, a profound and foundational exploration of the gospel. Over the next two years, we will study this letter in four parts, delving into the depth of God’s righteousness and His redemptive plan through Christ.

We start with “The Gospel: Right With God” (Romans 1–4), where Paul confronts our need for salvation and reveals how the gospel meets that need. Through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, God provides the righteousness we could never achieve on our own. These chapters lay the groundwork for understanding justification by faith and the transformative grace of God.

Join us as we marvel at the gospel’s power to reconcile us to God and its implications for every part of our lives.

Kids Moment

This coming week in Mission Kids we will be looking at the golden calf. Exodus 32; 34

Bible Story Summary:

•When Moses was on Mount Sinai, the Israelites told Aaron to make gods who would go before them.

•Aaron told the people to bring him their gold jewelry. Aaron used the jewelry to make a golden calf. Then Israel worshiped the golden calf.

•God was angry with Israel’s sin. Moses was angry too, but he asked God to forgive them and to be their God.

Review Questions:

•Why was God right to be angry with His people’s sin?

•How does Jesus save us from God’s judgment of sin?
